We were quite disappointed with the limited information about renal disease
(let alone renal disease in intensive care) available on the
net! What did we miss? The following are reasonable to good..
The All-net paediatric critical care textbook
has a remarkable amount of information about
continuous haemofiltration. We were impressed!
The International Journal on Hemofiltration and Blood Purification
Techniques (quite a mouthful, contracted to the silly name Hemofiltr@ion) is
here.
It has a good review on requirements for
high-volume haemofiltration by Ronco and Bellomo.
Louisiana State University Medical Centre have their "Virtual ICU"
with a fairly substantial page on
continuous renal replacement therapy in critical
care. The site is still under development and (enthusiastically) favours Internet
Explorer.
