Drug CYP interaction Clinical consequences
(S)-warfarin - MANY drug interactions occur, but it appears safe with ACE inhibitors, calcium channel blockers, beta blockers, and cardiac glycosides. Before you use ANY drug with warfarin, you should check for a possible interaction (including non-CYP interactions). CYP2C9 : low activity (congenital or acquired) e.g. 10 times increased effect
CYP2C9 : increased metabolism of warfarin due to 2C9 induction by e.g. rifampicin ineffective (thrombotic complications)
(R) - warfarin metabolised by 1A2, 2C19 (R) warfarin is far less important in warfarin effect, but inhibition or induction of these CYPs may possibly interfere!
